The average contribution to the statutory health insurance could rise by 0.2 percentage points or 0.3 percentage points. This is clear from the result of the circle of evaluators of the Federal Ministry of Health, Federal Insurance Office and Central Association of Statutory Health Insurance (GKV).
Ultimately, the Federal Ministry of Health will decide at the beginning of November how high this increase will be.
For the individual funds this does not necessarily mean that the contributions increase. Depending on the cash position she could get along without raising contributions. On the contrary, despite a rise in the average additional contribution, reductions in funds with excess financial reserves are possible from next year.
The financial reserves of the funds have risen in recent years to more than 20 billion euros - alone from 2015 to 2019 from 14.5 billion to 21.2 billion euros.
