The federal government is screwing its growth expectations for the coming year down significantly. By 2020, the German economy will only achieve a plus of 1.1 percent. In the spring, the economic experts from the CDU-led Federal Ministry of Economics had expected an increase of 1.5 percent.
For the current year, the government experts remain at their prediction of 0.5 percent. So you expect that Germany escapes just a recession.
The federal government plans to publish its so-called autumn projection next week. Until then, the numbers can also be minimally adjusted up or down. The projection is the basis for the end of the month tax estimate. Due to lower growth expectations, it can be expected that the revenues of the federal, state and local governments will increase less strongly.
