Cooperation Agreement between Agriculture and ACSAD to improve the quality of milk and milk products

DAMASCUS, (SANA) - The Ministry of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform and the Arab Center for the Studies of Arid Zones and Arid Lands signed on Monday

The Ministry of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform and the Arab Center for the Studies of Arid Zones and Dry Lands (ACSAD) signed today at the Ministry's headquarters in Damascus, a cooperation agreement for the implementation of the project of “Mobile Milk Study in Sheep” in the governorates of Homs, Tartous and Lattakia.

ACSAD Director General Dr. Rafik Ali Saleh said in a statement to SANA that the project aims to improve the quality of milk and its derivatives, pointing out that the experts "ACSAD" will train educators on the proper methods in the process of manual and automatic milking and methods of detecting mastitis in order to obtain high-quality milk .

Saleh explained that the center will train technicians in milk collection centers on methods of analyzing and detecting milk fraud and training workers on the methods of manufacturing different milk products.

For his part, Director of the Animal Resources Development Project at the Ministry of Agriculture, Dr. Rami Al-Ali, said that the implementation of this agreement needs to work very hard and intensive, stressing that the project will be implemented in full cooperation between the Ministry and FAO.
