The co-chief executive of the US software company Oracle, Mark Hurd, died at the age of 62 years. This was confirmed by a company spokeswoman. Further information the group did not want to do at first.
Hurd had surprisingly announced a break in September for health reasons. His duties were initially taken over by Oracle founder and Tech board member Larry Ellison and co-CEO Safra Catz, it was said at Hurds break.
Born in New York, Hurd has been with Oracle since 2010, and in 2014, he was promoted to senior with Catz. He was chief executive officer at computer company Hewlett-Packard for five years, having previously worked for 25 years for slot machine specialist NCR.
