If the soli plans of Federal Finance Minister Olaf Scholz (SPD) in the Bundestag should not be changed, wants to sue the SME association BVMW. "The discrimination of entire taxpayer groups violates clearly against the Basic Law," criticized SME President Mario Ohoven. The constitutional complaint was in the drawer and should be submitted in Karlsruhe at the turn of the year.
"All members of the Bundestag should take a close look at our constitutional complaint so that they do not seize a constitutional violation in the vote on the Soli Law of the Grand Coalition," threatened Ohoven.
Ohoven: Even skilled workers affected
The abolition of partial abolition does not only exclude the group of millionaires named by Scholz, but from an income of 74,000 euros also skilled workers and many entrepreneurs. Against the law is already a complaint of a married couple from Bayernvor.
Scholz had repeatedly emphasized that his bill was constitutional. The solidarity surcharge, which was introduced because of special costs after reunification, should be eliminated for 90 percent of the payer and at least reduced for another 6.5 percent. Only top earners will be charged from January 2021 still as before.
The Ministry of Finance speaks of the largest tax cuts in more than ten years. It estimates the relief for 2021 to around ten billion euros, 2024 it should be twelve billion. In 2018, 18.9 billion euros had flowed into the federal budget through the solos.
