The industrial gas company Linde apparently wants to reduce several hundred jobs in Germany. The Dax Group is negotiating with the workforce on a job cuts by the end of 2021. The news agency dpa reports, citing trade union circles. According to "Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung" ("FAZ"), 850 full-time jobs should be concretely up for discussion. The company did not comment.
By contrast, Linde confirmed that the old headquarters of the Dax Group in Munich will be dissolved. Employees move to an existing location in the suburb of Pullach around the turn of the year.
Linde pays two headquarters
The traditional gas company Linde had merged with its US competitor Praxair last year. Even before the merger, Linde had started an austerity program with the reduction of up to 975 jobs. The planned reduction should be made according to the "FAZ" report beyond. Linde currently employs just over 7,000 people in Germany.
Since the merger, Linde has had its corporate seat in Ireland, with its main office in the United Kingdom. In addition, there are two headquarters at the former seats of the two partners, in Munich and in Danbury in the US, where also CEO Steve Angel sits.
