The European Central Bank keeps the key interest rate at zero percent. The key phrase to supply the commercial banks with money remains at 0.0 percent, said the monetary authorities. Since March 2016, the key interest rate has been at this record low.
The so-called deposit rate was left to the ECB at the previous level of minus 0.5 percent, where it has been since last month. As a result, banks must continue to pay fines if they park excess money with the ECB.
