Beach Art in Sydney: Pink Tank

2019-10-25T09:34:41.003Z

A tank in pink, paper ball in yellow and green and a red colored pencil on the cliff - to see in the "Sculpture by the Sea". The famous exhibition in Sydney could take place for the last time on Bondi Beach.

For two kilometers, the average hiker takes about half an hour. For the distance between Bondi Beach and Tamarama Beach in Sydney, however, that would be a cultural crime. For three weeks, there are about a hundred sculptures by 111 artists from all over the world - from fragile-looking steel structures to colorful plants to giant animals and heads.

The open-air exhibition "Sculpture by the Sea" takes place for the 23rd time. Until the 10th of November visitors can stroll along the coast between the two beaches. And ponder what the sculptors thought when they created works like "Sea Enemies 5", "The Sun So Rises" or "The Poetry of Logical Ideas". The organizers expect 500,000 curious.

Open-Air Art in Sydney: Hidden Agony

Whether the exhibition will be built next year on the famous Bondi Beach is not yet clear. This reports, among other things, the newspaper "Sydney Morning Herald". The organizers would still argue with the Waverley Town Council over the design of a new paved path. Just like this, a colorful new sports field disturbs the art experience. In July, the organizers announced that they were actively looking for a new place.

If you can not get enough of sculptures, sand and sea, you can revel in the photos of the past year:
