Gold fell on world markets today but remained around $ 1490 an ounce as stocks rose on progress in trade talks between China and the United States.
Spot gold fell 0.1 percent to $ 1491.72 an ounce and gold futures fell 0.1 percent to $ 1494 an ounce, Reuters reported.
For other precious metals, palladium dropped 0.1 percent to $ 1798.18 an ounce, silver fell 0.4 percent to $ 17.79 an ounce, and platinum fell 0.6 percent to $ 913.26 an ounce.
