Serbian President Alexander Vucic has announced that his country and Russia have agreed to increase the volume of underground gas storage facilities in Serbia.
"We have reached an agreement with Russia to have more than 750 million cubic meters of gas and we aim to store between 1.5 and 2 billion cubic meters so that there is no need to worry again if gas supplies are disrupted," Vucic told RTS television.
The two sides signed during the visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to Serbia in January last year a memorandum of understanding on the increase in quantities in the gas storage facility underground.
Last year, Russia's Gazprom provided 2.15 billion cubic meters of gas to Serbia, up 1.2 percent from 2017.
