Fish fillets recalled at Aldi Nord: Pangasius contaminated with chlorate

Pangasius "Golden Seafood" fillets distributed by Aldi Nord could be contaminated with chlorate. Therefore, the company Clama recalls the frozen fish.

In an investigation, an increase in exposure to chlorate has been found, the company said in Mülheim an der Ruhr. Only pangasius fillets with the lot number VN126 VI017 and the best before date 06.03.2021 are affected.

A health impairment could not be excluded. Chlorate may affect the function of the thyroid in certain individuals.

The fish had been sold in Aldi-Nord stores in Bremen, Brandenburg, Berlin, Hamburg, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Lower Saxony, Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, Schleswig-Holstein, Thuringia and parts of Hesse and North Rhine-Westphalia. He could be returned in any Aldi North branch. The purchase price will be refunded.
