The General Company for Paints and Chemical Industries (Omaya) has reported an increase in production, sales and profits, some of which doubled during the first ten months of this year compared to the same period last year, according to company data.
A company report obtained by SANA showed that it produced about 307 thousand gallons of all types of plastic, oil and industrial paints valued at 1.556 billion pounds and the rate of development in quantity amounted to 199 percent from the same period last year, which saw the production of 154 thousand gallons worth 951 million pounds at a rate of development. The value was 164 percent.
According to the report, sales of the company during the said period amounted to 285 thousand gallons valued at 1.425 billion pounds at a rate of 115 percent growth compared to the same period last year, during which 254 thousand gallons were valued at 1.249 billion pounds at a rate of 114 percent.
In a statement to SANA's representative, Mazen Al-Boutros, director of the chemical company, explained that the achievement of these results was due to the keenness of workers and technicians to exert their utmost efforts and invest the available technical capabilities of machinery and equipment and the production of some types of special paints. LBP 120 million recently revealed the company achieved profits of about LBP 300 million during the first ten months of this year and an increase of 100 million over the same period last year.
Omaya produces about 60 varieties of oil, industrial and plastic paints and is unique in the production of marine paints and road paints and anti-bacterial paints, according to Peter, who stressed that it did not stop at that, it seeks to develop thermal insulation paints in addition to epoxy paints for floors.
Boutros said that the company currently has about 11 agents in various governorates and is seeking to find new agents for all governorates and even regions in order to expand horizontally and increase the number of outlets with special discounts and discounts for these agents pointing to the high quality of the company's products at reasonable prices and the adoption of Syrian standards .
Al-Boutros pointed out the importance of supplying the company with new and young labor and amending incentive and reward systems to increase the production capacity, in addition to obliging public authorities to draw their needs from all kinds of paints from illiteracy, which contributes to increase sales and achieve high economic rent.
The company's plan for the current year includes the production of 700 thousand gallons of plastic, oil and industrial paints.
