A collaboration between Airbnb and the International Olympic Committee (IOC) meets with incomprehension in Paris. She wrote a letter to IOC chief Thomas Bach to warn him "of the risks and consequences of a deal with the apartment broker," said Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo.
Paris is the host city of the 2024 Olympic Games. The International Olympic Committee announced on Monday its worldwide partnership with Airbnb until 2028. At the Games 2016 in Rio de Janeiro, the company had already been partner of the local organizing committee.

The platform is accused of driving up housing prices or exacerbating the shortage of housing in the rental market.

IOC President Bach said on Monday that the partnership with Airbnb would help provide housing and reduce the costs for Olympic organizers and partners. Financial details of the deal were not mentioned.
