The largest 50-megawatt hydroelectric power plant in eastern Azerbaijan has opened today.
Fars News Agency reported that the new plant could generate more than 175,000 MWh of electricity annually, covering electricity services for 104,000 families in the city of Miana.
The Iranian industrial group has built turbines and equipment for the plant, which contained 20 turbines.
The plant will provide 49 million cubic meters of natural gas and 38,000 cubic meters of water in addition to reducing the emission of 119,200 tons of pollutants.
