US President Donald Trump said today that his country will impose tariffs on steel and aluminum from Brazil and Argentina, in a new chapter of Trump's reckless trade war, ignoring the many warnings about the possible negative repercussions on the US and global economies.
Trump wrote on Twitter, according to Agence France-Presse that "Brazil and Argentina have significantly reduced their currencies," adding that "This hurts US farmers, so I will return duties on imports of steel and aluminum to the United States from these two countries."
Trump called on the US Federal Reserve to do the same.
Last October, the United States imposed tariffs on a wide range of goods imported from the European Union worth $ 7.5 billion.
