Rewe pasta recalled because of possible foil in filling

2019-12-02T18:29:10.163Z

Italian food manufacturer Gusto di Casa warns of a batch of pasta sold in Rewe markets. Foreign objects could get into the packaging.

In a pasta product sold by the supermarket chain Rewe, remnants of a metal-like foil could be found. The manufacturer Gusto di Casa has recalled the affected batch "Rewe Fine World - pumpkin sage Girasoli" as a precaution. Consumers should not consume the pasta from the 250 gram pack with the best before date 22.12.2019, it said in a message published on the portal Lebensmittelwarnung.de.

The soft film could therefore be "isolated in the filling of the pasta". Because a health risk could not be ruled out, the manufacturer had the batch removed from the sale.

Affected are Rewe branches in all states except Brandenburg. Customers can return the affected pasta without a receipt in a REWE market and get the money back. Packages with a different expiration date are not affected by the recall.
