Doing it again: Trump’s quote that weighs on the markets
The US President told reporters in London during the NATO summit that in some ways it is better to wait after the elections to sign a trade agreement with China

"In a way, I like the idea of waiting for the post-election deal with China, but they want to make a deal now and see if the deal is right now," US President Donald Trump told reporters in London during the NATO summit this morning.
Asked if he has a deadline, Trump said: "I don't have a deadline, no ... In a way, I think it would be better to wait until after the election, to be honest." Trump's remarks come later in the report that China is gifting the first phase of the U.S. tariff-clearing trade agreement immediately.
Wall Street futures futures have slumped against the backdrop of the US president's quote, following yesterday's declines in New York in the wake of weak US macro data and fears of a powerhouse trade explosion.

To the full articleYesterday, Trump tweeted about his intention to return the tariffs on steel and aluminum imported from Brazil and Argentina, claiming that the countries had allegedly manipulated the local currency to create more favorable trading conditions for them. These states have been exceeded by the tariffs imposed by Trump in May 2018, on states including Mexico and Canada.
Meanwhile, China has toughened its stance on US intervention in Hong Kong. Trump signed a bill supporting Hong Kong democracy last week, and China has banned US response to US human rights institutions and docked US-Hong Kong navy ships.
