The food manufacturer Rotkäppchen calls back a camembert. Reason is a possible germ load.
The company found Listeria (Listeria monocytogenes) in a product sample. Affected by the find is the soft cheese "Rügener Badejunge Der Sahnige" with the best before date January 3, 2020 and the batch number EAN code: 40508429, Rotkäppchen said.
The recall concerns only Rewe markets in the federal states of Thuringia, Brandenburg, Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt. Customers can return the product in the respective shop and get the purchase price refunded, even without presentation of a receipt.
Listeria may cause flu-like symptoms and, according to authorities, may damage the central nervous system. Especially for pregnant women, diabetics, immune-compromised and children is at increased risk.
