The Turkish lira continued to decline by about 0.6 percent against the dollar today, hitting its lowest level in two months, due to concerns about relations with the United States and expectations for further rate cuts.
Reuters reported that the Turkish lira recorded 5,8455.5 against the dollar, retreating about 0.6 percent from Friday's closing of 5,820.5. Earlier, the lira touched 8505.5, its weakest level since the 22 of last October.
The Turkish lira has fallen about nine percent since the beginning of this year after it tumbled 30 percent last year as a result of high levels of foreign debt for Turkey in light of the reckless economic policies of Recep Tayyip Erdogan's regime.
