The delegation of the Jordanian Syndicates of the clearance companies and the transport of goods and cars of the Jordanian truck discussed with the Damascus Chamber of Industry and its countryside and the Damascus Chamber of Commerce ways to overcome the obstacles facing the flow of goods and the movement of transport and transit between the two countries and work to facilitate the movement of inter-trade.

During the meeting in the Damascus Chamber of Industry and its countryside, the Chairman of the Chamber's Board of Directors, Samer Al-Debs, stressed the need to overcome all obstacles that face the movement of goods crossing between the two countries, especially with regard to customs duties on the transit of trucks loaded with goods amounting to 10 percent, which negatively affected commercial exchange between the two countries Car transit requires a re-examination of transit fees and reduced them to 2 percent, as was the case in the Greater Arab Free Trade Agreement.

Al-Dibs also pointed to the problem of the negative list of Syrian products developed by the Jordanian Ministry of Economy and the need to address them, especially in light of unjust Western unilateral measures imposed on Syria and the importance of reaching solutions that satisfy both sides.

In the Damascus Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Chamber’s Board of Directors, Manar Al-Jallad, stressed the need to adhere to the major Arab free trade agreement governing trade exchange between Arab countries and facilitate the transit of Syrian goods and not to cancel any agreement before informing the Syrian side of it within a specific time period to take appropriate measures for it.

For his part, the captain of the owners of Jordanian clearance and transportation companies, Dhaif Allah Abu Aaqleh, made it clear that the visit aims to address the difficulties that stand in the way of inter-trade between the two countries and obstacles to crossing trucks and transit and fees imposed on them, especially that they are very high and increase the cost of goods and thus their inability to compete and limit the increase Exports of the two countries pointing to the importance of revitalizing and raising the volume of exports.

For his part, Muhammad Khair Dawood Al-Zoubi, President of the Jordanian Truck Owners Association, stressed the necessity of reducing customs duties on trucks in order to increase exports between the two countries and enhance intra-trade, especially as these fees hinder the exchange of goods and raise their costs, hoping that those in both countries can find appropriate solutions.
