London-Sana

Oil prices fell in global markets today, but they are heading for the largest annual increase since 2016, supported by reduced trade tensions between the United States and China and a reduction in supplies.

Reuters reported that the futures contracts for Brent global benchmark in March contracts fell 15 cents, or 0.2 percent, to $ 66.52 a barrel. Also, US West Texas Intermediate crude for February delivery fell 19 cents, or 0.3 percent, to $ 61.49 a barrel.

Brent rose nearly 24 percent in 2019, American crude rose 35 percent, and the benchmarks are heading for their biggest annual gain in three years, thanks to a breakthrough in US-China trade talks and pledges to cut production from the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and its allies.
