The Central Bank of Syria announced that citizens and holders of amounts in foreign currencies can sell the bank's branches exclusively in the governorates, ie amounts in US dollars or euros without any documents and at the preferential exchange rate, which is currently 700 Syrian pounds per one US dollar.
The bank said in a statement that SANA received a copy of it today that the exchange rate will be determined daily by it, pointing out that this decision comes “in the interest of citizens’ money and reassuring them and ensuring that they are not subject to legal accountability and judicial prosecution or attempts to blackmail them by manipulators in the black market. ”Noting that determining The euro exchange rate is according to a notice issued by the central bank.
The bank called on all citizens to deal with official banking channels and not to deal with the black market or get sucked behind manipulators at the exchange rate of the Syrian pound.
