"A strong positive gesture", after weeks of strike against the pension reform which made thousands of travelers suffer: this is how the general manager of Voyages SNCF Rachel Picard, explained the sale, from Thursday, five million train tickets for less than 35 euros.
"We would like to tell our customers how much we would like them to regain their confidence in us," said Rachel Picard, who was speaking on the antenna for Europe 1 this Monday morning, as traffic returns to almost normal for TGV, and is clearly improving for regional trains.
This operation is unprecedented in its scale, assured the director. "It is almost a quarter of the places" which are put on sale at this price. "It is really to say to our customers: we are aware of what you have suffered, we are making an effort and we would really like to reconnect with you".
Tickets will go on sale from this Thursday, January 23 and until the 30, for trips "from now until mid-April", including the February vacation, said Rachel Picard, " on all Inouï and OuiGo TGVs ”.
Compensation for TGV subscribers
A second gesture is also made towards TGV subscribers, "who have been particularly affected by the disruptions". "They will be automatically compensated on their subscription in February, between 50 and 100%," said the director of Voyages SNCF.
"For those who are still hesitant to take the train, who are asking questions, who have not yet regained confidence, we want to tell them come, and come quickly," she said.
