The Ministry of Interior arrested three people in Tartous for the offense of dealing in a currency other than the Syrian pound.
The Ministry stated on its Facebook page that in the framework of the efforts taken by the Ministry of the Interior to follow up dealers outside the lira, to prosecute people working in foreign currency exchange on the black market, and to take the necessary legal measures against them, the Criminal Security Branch in Tartous was able to arrest three people for the offense of dealing in a currency other than the Syrian pound. The ministry pointed out that foreign currencies were seized and sums of money worth three million two hundred and fifty three thousand five hundred pounds in possession of the arrested and was found in possession of "c." Q ”on two pieces of the drug cannabis substance stating that, by interrogating them, they confessed to practicing the profession of exchange in a way that violates the law and dealing in non-pounds, with the aim of achieving material profit.
The Ministry confirmed that the necessary legal measures have been taken against those arrested and will be brought to the appropriate jurisdiction.
