The American Central Bank (Fed) said on Friday that the consequences on the Chinese economy of the epidemic of new coronavirus would penalize the world economy, and indicated that it continued to watch closely the evolutions of the conjuncture, according to a report released Friday.

" The recent emergence of the coronavirus (...) could lead to ruptures (in the economy) in China which will have repercussions on the whole of the world economy ", indicated the Fed in its semi-annual report monetary policy. The Fed, without however anticipating what the members of its monetary committee will decide at their next meeting, stressed that " in a context of weak economic activity and dormant inflationary pressures, foreign central banks generally adopt a more accommodating policy ”, that is to say lower rates.
