To great ills, great remedies. Located in Châteauroux (Indre) and employing around 120 people, the KSB factory manufactures very specific pumps - high-pressure multicell pumps - which are used in snow cannons, desalination plants or in pumping structures of in the valleys.
An activity with high added value, which ensures the prosperity of this site, a subsidiary of the German industrial group KSB. However, despite its solidity, the company had struggled for several years to recruit machinists. This job, which consists of creating precision metal parts, is in great demand in the industry throughout France. But the Châteauroux business faces an additional handicap. “In our city, the professional machining bin disappeared a decade ago. For this specialty, the nearest CFA (apprenticeship training center) is in Bourges, an hour's drive away, ” says Alexandra Rongy, HR director of the KSB site in Châteauroux.
