While the technical mission to review statistics and know the Government's economic plan still remains in Buenos Aires, the IMF head, Kristalina Georgieva, warned in the last hours that the agency has a “ legal formulation” that prevents it from granting removals to Debtor countries

Thus, the official confirmed the position of the agency, which days ago had rejected the sayings of Vice President Cristina Kirchner, who had claimed from Cuba a take away from the Argentine debt.

"Our legal formulation is such that we cannot take measures that may be possible for others without this great global responsibility, " Georgieva said during an interview with Bloomberg on Sunday.

Days ago, during the presentation of her book "Sincerely," the former president had publicly requested from Havana a reduction of the debt that Argentina maintains with the agency, which was taken during the government of Mauricio Macri.

"How does the statute prohibit making a take away? It also prohibits loans for the foreign exchange issue and allow money to escape. And why are we going to enforce a ban and the other does not? I want the statute applied from the entire Fund, from the first to the last chapter, do not choose the chapter. You apply to me that I cannot take away but you apply the one that says that you could not lend me to escape as they escaped, "he questioned.

Without wanting to argue, Georgieva said during the interview that "in general terms", he strongly supports the commitment of this Government to stabilize the economy and return to growth. "

However, he warned: "We understand the need to carefully analyze the debt burden. It is the job of the Government, not the IMF."
