Hasawy said in a statement to SANA that Syria’s need for domestic gas ranges between 120 and 140 thousand cylinders per day, as between 40 and 50 percent of the need is secured from local production, while the rest is secured through import contracts, pointing to the existence of many contracts concluded to secure The material and all possible facilities are offered to suppliers.
Haswa explained that the economic blockade and unilateral coercive measures imposed on Syria cause great difficulties in the arrival of tankers at specified times and difficulties in bank transfers to pay the value of the material, indicating that the delay in the arrival of supplies during the past period led to a shortage in the past three months of 49 thousand and 500 tons at a rate Almost 15 thousand tons per month.

The Director General of Hydrocarbons indicated that the number of cylinders distributed according to the new mechanism according to the messages amounted to one million two hundred thousand cylinders, with a rate of 95.6 percent implementation of the messages. It is expected that the number of cylinders distributed by the end of February will exceed two million.
