It is the first time that the prestigious French school of gastronomy and hotel management has come out of its walls; its partnership with Galeries Lafayette is exclusive. Galeries Lafayette already offered cooking classes in the 1990s, before moving on. "We come back to it, because our customers demand it," continues Alexandre Liot. The subject is not profitability per square meter, but to offer something differentiating. ” The courses (sweet and savory, from 110 euros per person) will be given in French and English to start, perhaps in other languages afterwards. Tourists are the first target clientele. They are already in favor of the many activities that Airbnb offers on its site, with cooking classes in mind. Shopping more and more on the internet, customers are no longer satisfied with tidy stores when they go out. They want life, entertainment. In addition to the courses given by the Ferrandi school, the Galleries offer - opposite, in their historic store - wine and cheese tastings, tattoo workshops, pastry making and customization of sneakers.
