The association had launched a class action against the German manufacturer within the framework of this scandal with the faked diesel engines. In November 2015, Volkswagen admitted having installed software that falsifies polluting emissions in 11 million of its diesel-powered vehicles. Consequence: a planetary scandal which cast reproach on the whole of the automobile planet. And cost the German manufacturer a fortune. For now, the total cost already exceeds 30 billion euros, in compensation, fines and legal fees. Without counting the invoice of the day.

The largest bill comes from the United States, where Volkswagen sold 500,000 vehicles equipped with fake software.
