The governance crisis is starting again at EssilorLuxottica. A year and a half after the group was created, the Italian camp asked for the head of one of the group's two main operational leaders, the Frenchman Laurent Vacherot. Thursday, during the board of directors, the vote ended with 8 in favor, 7 against, and one abstention, that of Laurent Vacherot.

The director general of Essilor, responsible for integrating the group with the Italian Francesco Milleri, boss of Luxottica, remains: his departure would have required a vote against more. "This vote was not personal, it is the responsibility of Laurent Vacherot as the boss of Essilor in the fraud in Thailand that he was asked to take on," said a relative of the Italian camp.
