Every day, Le Parisien takes action to answer your questions about the coronavirus. This time, we are looking at Amélie's question, who asks us: "I have to babysit my children, can I put my nanny on partial unemployment?" " A question that also applies to all domestic workers.
For the moment, the answer is given by Cesu (universal employment service check), member of Urssaf managing the declaration of the remuneration of employees at home. A decree is expected in the coming days to specify exactly how the partial unemployment of homeworkers will be taken care of. Here is an answer with the elements known to date.
In the case of a nanny, a housekeeper (or a man) and any employee at your home, the Cesu invites "private employers who can declare and pay the full amount remuneration for the month of March to their employee, even if all the hours declared have not been worked ”.
One million workers affected
Even if, due to the containment measures in the fight against the pandemic of Covid-19, your employees were unable to perform all of their usual activities, you can therefore continue to remunerate them. For scheduled and non-worked hours, the employer can then complete a form (soon available on the Cesu website) which will indicate the amount to be paid.

This, for the employee, will be equivalent to 80% of his usual net compensation. A total exempt from social charges but which must appear on his tax return. Ultimately, the employer will be reimbursed for this amount. "Faced with this exceptional situation, it is recommended that private employers wait for the exceptional compensation form to be available before making their declaration for the period of March", informs Cesu.
One million people work in France as home helpers. Like medical staff and nursing home workers, they are also concerned with helping to care for their children (on the site www.mon-enfant.fr).
