Every day, Le Parisien takes action to answer your questions about the coronavirus. Today we are interested in this question asked by a reader: "Can I do my technical control during confinement? "
In principle, yes, but be aware that your technical control is not necessarily necessary during this period. The Minister for the Ecological and Inclusive Transition, Elisabeth Borne, announced Monday a tolerance period of three months for light vehicles. You can therefore travel if your inspection date has passed, for several months. Contact your center to postpone your date after confinement. But beware: heavy vehicles are only entitled to 15 days.
🚗🚛 Vehicles which must circulate despite confinement may have to carry out a technical check for their safety. Centers are allowed to stay open but tolerances are provided👇

In a new decree detailing the containment rules, it is specified that activities concerning "maintenance and repair of motor vehicles, vehicles, agricultural machinery and equipment" can continue. The centers carrying out technical checks and garages are therefore authorized to remain open during confinement.
If you still want to do this check, contact your center in advance to find out if it is open. Many garages and technical control centers had to close their doors, faced with the impossibility of protecting their employees in the face of the epidemic.
Also bring your travel certificate by checking the box mentioning travel related to basic necessities in establishments whose activities remain authorized.
