Despite the Covid-19 crisis, Arkema is staying on course. The French chemist presented to investors Thursday his strategy of strengthening in specialty materials, a sector with high added value and slightly cyclical. These activities already represented nearly 80% of the group's sales in 2019, compared to 40% when it was created fifteen years ago. By 2024 Arkema aims to become a “pure player (100% of sales) in specialty materials.”
To achieve his goal and become a world champion in specialty chemicals, the tricolor chemist will focus on three areas: adhesives, "advanced materials" and coating products. This strategy should allow it to accelerate its growth, notably through acquisitions, to reach a turnover of 10 to 11 billion euros in 2024, against 8.7 billion in 2019.
