The Central Bank of Syria has announced the activation of the service to pay salaries and wages for workers in the state and civilian and military retirees through the centers of the General Post Corporation in order to enhance the precautionary measures in dealing with the emerging Corona virus.
The Central said in a statement that SANA received a copy of it that it had cooperated with the Syrian real estate and commercial banks to activate the service of paying salaries and wages for workers in the state and civilian and military retirees through the centers of the General Post Office using points of sale in order to reduce congestion on ATMs and reach the largest segment of citizens in cities And villages.
The Central added that it will be available during the coming period to use the Commercial Bank Card and the Real Estate Bank Card on all ATMs belonging to the two banks.
Al-Markazi indicated that he is working with the commercial and real estate banks to activate the electronic payment service at the points of sale installed at the Syrian Trade Corporation, allowing the citizen to use the card of the Syrian Commercial Bank or the real estate bank to purchase materials and commodities without the need to use paper money.
The Central confirmed that this last measure is temporary until the national electronic payment infrastructure projects that the Central Bank is working on are ready.
