It is an envelope of one billion euros that planned to release the Council of Social Protection of Self-Employed Workers (CPSTI) to help entrepreneurs, traders, artisans and micro-entrepreneurs. This sum will feed a "loss of earnings compensation" , capped at 1,250 euros, which should be automatically paid at the end of April, via the Central Agency for Social Security Organizations (Acoss).
This direct aid will be proportional to the amounts of previous contributions of each of the self-employed concerned to the supplementary self-employed pension scheme (RCI). It will be net of taxes and social charges. On average, the contributions of the self-employed to this supplementary fund represent 7% of their annual income.
Self-employed workers in handicrafts and commerce in great difficulty will benefit from a form of alternative income without putting public finances to work
Medef, CPME and U2P press releaseAny self-employed person in activity on March 15, 2020 and affiliated to the caisse before January 1, 2019 will be able to benefit from it. There will be no specific steps to take. Some 1,438,000 independent workers are affected by this aid, which can be combined with the 1,500 euros from the solidarity fund set up by the government " and of which we are still working on an improved version ", underlined François Asselin, the president of the CPME.
" Thus, the self-employed crafts and commerce today in great difficulty will benefit from a form of substitution income, and this without the public finances being put to contribution ", indicated in a joint press release the CPME , Medef and U2P. The three employers' organizations also ask that social security contributions and contributions, already postponed to March and April, also be postponed to May if the situation requires it.
