"A good debt agreement for our future post-pandemic," says the statement signed by a group of entrepreneurs from various industries and supporting the negotiation faced by the government.

"Our country faces, once again, a key juncture for its future. Today, also, framed in the greatest crisis in the history of modern capitalism since the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, which will affect the economy very negatively worldwide ", starts the statement signed by Alejandro Simon (President of ADIRA), José Urtubey (Director of Cellulose Argentina), Marcelo Figueiras (President of Richmond Laboratories), Martín Umaran (Founder Globant & Director), Martin Cabrales (Vice President of Cabrales SA ), Pablo Peralta (President of the BST / Origenes Group), Mara Bettiol (President of UART) and Fabian Castillo (President FECOBA). These same businessmen were meeting last week with Minister Guzmán.

In the statement it is said that the National Government has taken the decision " not to postpone the country's urgent and strategic agenda, one of whose central axes is to resolve external indebtedness, to make it more sustainable and to give the Argentine economy the air it needs to resume the path of growth. "

Thus he points out that the offer presented by the country, with the support of governors, the CGT and leaders of different political signs, "constitutes a very important step in open negotiation and reaffirms Argentina's commitment to debt repayment, beyond of the extreme situation generated by the pandemic. "

"Those of us who sign here support the negotiation process opened by the National Executive Power. We understand that it is essential for the immediate and mediate future of the country that it concludes successfully, with the best possible agreement, and that we can face the difficult post-pandemic scenario we have ahead of us with a healthy financial front, "they conclude.

For its part, the association of public and private banks of the Argentine Republic (APAPPRA) added its support.

"The Association of Public and Private Banks of the Argentine Republic expresses its support for the renegotiation process of the external debt undertaken by the National Government. From ABAPPRA we believe that the proposal presented to creditors is adequate, sustainable and realistic in terms of the payment profile and interest for government securities issued under foreign law. "

"Likewise, we want to express our support for the process that, in the same sense, is being carried out by the Province of Buenos Aires, as well as the different provincial governments that, in moments of singular difficulties, began the renegotiation of their debts to strengthen the growth process with social inclusion once the period of social, preventive and compulsory isolation has ended "
