The trams and buses of the Bordeaux agglomeration will run at 65% from May 11, aiming for 100% in early June, but the metropolis fears a reluctance of the public still worried, and would be satisfied with 30% of attendance in the first weeks of deconfinement.

Direction of entry and exit of the trains, stickers prohibiting one seat out of two, disinfection every night with virucide, between rotations with bactericide, seats prohibited near the driver's cabin, marking of the cross on the ground at stations, agents distributing hydroalcoholic gel to busiest stations ... The metropolitan area of Bordeaux this week presented the complex operating instructions for its " unconfined " tramway , which plans to go from 60% (trams) and 70% (bus) of the fleet in circulation on Monday 80-90% on May 25, then all in early June.

No more than 50% attendance before summer

The network, which carries around 500,000 people every day in normal times, hopes to gradually increase to “ 150,000 if all goes well ”, or 30-35% of usual traffic, instead of 10% during confinement. " We do not think we will exceed 50% attendance before the summer, " says Christophe Duprat, vice-president of the city in charge of transport.

On the other hand, the 28 mayors of the Bordeaux metropolis (800,000 inhabitants) have taken orders making it compulsory to wear a mask not only in transport - this measure is national - but also statically, at bus / tram stops in the territory of their commune, where the police can verbalize.
