The Livret A saw a record level of collection in April of nearly 5.5 billion euros, according to figures published Wednesday by the Caisse des Dépôts, this phenomenon reflecting the fall in consumption caused by the measures of confinement.

In April, net inflows on the Livret, a very popular investment in France, reached 5.47 billion euros compared to 2.71 billion in March. A year earlier, it had risen to just under two billion. This situation, already noticed in March, had worried the government. " It is not savings that we need today for our economy, but investment, " said Minister of Economy and Finance Bruno Le Maire.
