Regulated gas sales prices (TRV), applied by Engie to millions of French households, will drop 2.8% on June 1, the regulator announced on Thursday. Regulated gas sales prices (TRV), applied by Engie to millions of French households, will drop 2.8% on June 1, the regulator announced on Thursday.

"This decrease is 0.7% for customers who use gas for cooking, 1.5% for those who have dual use, cooking and hot water, and 2.9% for homes that heat gas, ”explains the Energy Regulatory Commission (CRE).

Since January 1, the TRVs have decreased in all by 25.3%, continues the CRE, a logical consequence of the fall in the price of hydrocarbons against the background of falling demand due to the global health crisis.

The Energy and Climate Law promulgated last November provides for the gradual extinction by 2023 of these gas TRVs, which are set by the public authorities and had been deemed contrary to European law by the Council of State. In the future, there will only be so-called market offers, at prices freely set by the suppliers.

Less than 4 million individuals still have a gas contract at the TRVs. But since November 20, Engie has stopped marketing new contracts of this type.
