The Director of Agriculture, Engineer Ragab Salama, stated in a statement to the SANA reporter that the harvested areas are divided into 160,000 hectares of barley and 5 thousand hectares of wheat and that harvesting operations are continuing by farmers who want to harvest their crops as quickly as possible due to the spread of agricultural fires throughout the province and the fear of loss Their crops.
Engineer Salama pointed out that barley harvest operations included various agricultural lands scattered in the governorate, while wheat harvest operations are still in their infancy and are limited to some areas in the southern and eastern regions, especially the countryside of the Shaddadi, Murkada and Al Houl regions, indicating that wheat harvest operations in the northern region begin Usually during the first third of next June.
It is noteworthy that the area planted with wheat and barley crops in Al-Hasakeh governorate for the current season exceeded 900 thousand hectares.
