The barometer entitled “ I note my box ”, carried out face to face by 136 CFDT delegates from January to March, gives an overall rating of 4.5 out of 10 to Carrefour. According to Sylvain Macé, central union representative for Carrefour, this is a first in a company in France. The responses, processed by an independent firm, relate to health, working conditions and organization. They are supplemented by a questionnaire in May on the Covid-19 crisis.
Among the 7,000 employees questioned from January to March, 69% deplore a lack of information on the vast transformation started in 2018 by CEO Alexandre Bompard, with thousands of job cuts. 76% declare that they do not trust the company to grow.
63% say they feel good at Carrefour
Nevertheless 63% say they feel good at Carrefour, " because of the friendliness between colleagues and a social status a little above the average of the large distribution ", observed Bruno Mouty, CFDT manager at the group committee. 68% feel physically exhausted and 65% morally exhausted, while their workload has increased for 77% of them. 38% believe they have had health problems and 25% report taking medication or stimulants because of work.
The CFDT, which will present these results to the shareholders' AG, wishes to work with Carrefour with a view to “ positive evolution of the results ” during the next edition of this barometer in 2021. A specific internet survey collected more than 1,000 responses in May to the Covid-19 crisis.
