The restaurants and hairdressing salons of Los Angeles, the main home of Covid-19 in California, were authorized to reopen on Friday on condition of implementing sanitary measures. All the employees of these establishments will have to wear a mask and the customers also, since they are not eating.
In restaurants, the capacity will have to be reduced by 60% and the counters will remain closed to allow the application of physical distance, which will also be used in hairdressing salons. Customers are also encouraged to book and will have to wait until their place is free on the sidewalk or in their car.

"The only reason we got this clearance is the work that each of us has done" to stem the pandemic, said Barbara Ferrer, director of health for Los Angeles County, which accounts for about half of all cases and deaths of Covid-19 identified in California. She insisted on the need to scrupulously respect these health regulations, otherwise the progress made during ten weeks of confinement could be destroyed.
This week, the authorities had already given the green light to the resumption of activities in shopping centers, offices and places of worship, even if this reopening is still taking place very gradually.
As of Friday, nearly 50,000 cases of Covid-19 were registered in Los Angeles County, and more than 2,200 deaths.
