Next Wednesday, June 3, the payment schedule defined by the Anses for the $ 10,000 bonus ends to assist the most unprotected sectors in the middle of the coronavirus pandemic . However, there are chances that the agency will be forced to extend it, since until Friday there were 1.12 million people who had not yet received payment.
The Emergency Family Income (IFE) covers 8.3 million beneficiaries. Of this total, 14% have not yet received payment, despite the quarantine having been in place for 10 weeks. When starting up the IFE, the body that Fernanda Raverta is leading today encountered many difficulties: on the one hand, the universe of bond applicants was much higher than they expected. They started with a forecast of 3.6 million beneficiaries and found 12 million claimants.
Of this total, 8.3 million people entered the benefit. But there are another 400,000 people who did not complete the process because they have not yet chosen the collection headquarters. And another batch of 400,000 that were rejected due to errors when crossing the data and that would potentially enter the bond. Thus, the IFE would reach 9.1 million.
Another of the problems that the Anses encountered was that 1.3 million people do not have a bank account , so they had to mount an operation to pay them. Those people are the ones who are charging in the branches of the Argentine Post Office, in a schedule that is arranged according to the final number of the DNI and the initial of the last name. Thus, on Monday those who have the document finished at 8 and the initial between M and Z will receive a charge. Tuesday will be the turn for those who end at 9 and their last name begins between A and L. And on Wednesday, the last day established so far, it's up to those who combine 9 with the letters that go from M to Z.
Due to the rate at which payments are taking place, it is highly unlikely that the 1.1 million that has not yet received payment can finish doing so in those three days. And also the Anses must resolve the situation of those who still do not have an assigned payment headquarters. So the chances of the schedule being extended grow .
When this first phase ends, the second batch of the bond will start . For this benefit there are no details yet. It is expected that next week the decree will be published that establishes what will be the amount to be collected and who will reach it.
