Oil futures stabilized at the close today, and crude prices were supported by reports that OPEC and Russia are close to extending a production cut deal.
Reuters reported that world benchmark Brent crude contracts closed 1.3 percent higher at $ 37.32 a barrel, while US crude contracts fell 0.1 percent to settle at $ 35.44 a barrel.
Prices found support after news that OPEC was approaching a compromise on extending oil production cuts and was discussing extending the restrictions for a period of one to two months.
