Oil prices rose today as traders awaited the results of the OPEC Plus meeting on extending huge production cuts to support prices later this week.

Reuters reported that Brent crude futures rose 0.49 percent, or 36 cents, to $ 38.68 a barrel.

US West Texas Intermediate crude futures increased by 0.73 percent, or 26 cents, to $ 35.70 a barrel.

Brent and West Texas Intermediate are still down nearly 40 percent since the start of this year.
