Coronavirus: "Will the flea markets be able to resume deconfinement?"

2020-06-04T20:18:05.384Z

In Paris, flea markets are authorized since June 2. But they must respect very strict rules of physical distance.

Every day, Le Parisien mobilizes to answer your questions around the coronavirus. We are interested today in the question of one of our readers: "Flea markets and garage sales will they resume deconfinement? "

It all depends on your city policy. In Paris, for example, "flea markets and garage sales are authorized after June 2 if the organizers agree to comply with a methodological guide," replied the town hall. Among the rules imposed, we find strict compliance with barrier measures, such as respecting "a physical distance of at least 1 meter between two people", and the possibility of washing hands with water points and soap or hydroalcoholic gel.

On site, dedicated staff must "regulate attendance (entry and exit) to guarantee the rule of 4 m² per person (customers and professionals)". A single traffic direction must be set up, the stands must be spaced from the surrounding buildings, and the food stand food must be protected and inaccessible to customers.

Many flea markets already canceled

On the payment side, forget the cash. “Electronic payment (bank card, smartphone payment application, etc.) must be privileged. The electronic payment terminal must be cleaned after each use. If a payment in cash is authorized, the organization of the payment must be distinct from the sale of goods ”, continues the town hall of Paris, which ensures that controls will be carried out to ensure the respect of these rules.

This recovery does not seem to encourage the organizers of garage sales and flea markets. On the vide-greniers.org site, we can observe that a large majority of events scheduled for June have been canceled, both in Paris and in the rest of France, in green on the deconfinement card.
