Telework, encouraged since the start of the health crisis, should not become the norm, said Geoffroy Roux de Bézieux, the president

Strongly encouraged since the coronavirus crisis, teleworking must not become "the alpha and the omega", according to Geoffroy Roux de Bézieux, the boss of Medef interviewed on Europe 1.

According to him, this "solution" has "brought a lot of satisfaction for some employees but also constraints, burn-outs, management problems within companies," he added.

"I think we need to go back to work", "to see each other", "to talk to each other", "to recreate wealth all together", underlined the president of Medef who "will launch, with the partners , a balance sheet ”over this period. This is a reflection that occurs when several companies plan to perpetuate this mode of operation.

More generally, the President of Medef considered that "everything should be done to preserve employment". The employers' organization requests in particular measures to encourage the recruitment of the youngest. "There is a huge brake on the hiring of young people" and "we do not want there to be a generation sacrificed," he said. Medef has notably requested aid of 10,000 euros for the recruitment of an apprentice.

The employers' organization is also in favor of a reduction in charges for companies which will offer a first permanent contract to young people. "Let us learn from what happened" during the 2008 crisis and "show collectively that we are capable of not closing the door," proposed the boss of the bosses. According to him, people who started badly on the job market in the context of the crisis in 2008-2009 would still be penalized today.
