SNCF: traffic returns to normal at the end of June

56% of TGVs are in circulation this Tuesday, June 9. All seats on board are now open for booking.


SNCF continues to ramp up its traffic, which started on D-day of the deconfinement on May 11th. The obligation to condemn one seat out of two for the sake of social distancing was lifted on June 2. Thus, 100% of the seats on board are available for booking. The group expects traffic to return to normal at the end of June.

56% of TGV traffic is provided this Tuesday, June 9 with 2 trains out of 3. The rest of the network also operates in degraded mode with almost 1 OUIGO train out of 2 and 1 Intercity train out of 2 on average. 80% of the trains will be put back into circulation by June 15.

" The French will be able to count on us to support them during this very special summer ," assured SNCF Voyageurs CEO Christophe Fanichet, in a press release. " At both economic and ecological, the train is the best way to travel in France ." All TGV, INOUI, OUIGO and Intercités trains running this summer are therefore open for booking and "are guaranteed to run", ensures the SNCF.

For these journeys, exchanges and refunds can be made free of charge until August 31 (TGV INOUI, OUIGO, Intercités and TER in correspondence).
