The rise in consumer prices slowed to 0.1% over a year in June in France, against 0.4% the previous month, said INSEE in a provisional estimate on Tuesday.

This fall in inflation is the result of " a slowdown in the prices of services and food and a steep decline in those of manufactured products ," the institute said in a statement.
On the other hand, energy prices, which had fallen sharply due to the coronavirus crisis since the start of the year, fell " less over a year than in May ".
Over one month, consumer prices would drop 0.1%, after increasing 0.1% the previous month, due to a sharp drop in food prices. On the other hand, energy prices rebounded one month after four consecutive months of sharp decline.

The harmonized consumer price index, which serves as a basis for comparison at European level, slowed down in June to 0.1% against 0.4% the previous month. Over one month, it fell by 0.1%, after 0.2% the previous month, specifies INSEE.
